Welcome to the Parent Portal! eSchoolData is the student data management system employed by the South Glens Falls Central School District. It includes a Parent Portal, which allows parents and guardians to view information about their students, such as attendance records, report cards, interim progress reports, health information, transcripts (grades 11 & 12 only), course requests, and discipline reports.
To access the Parent Portal, you need to create an account and complete verification of your identity. To safeguard sensitive student information, very specific procedures have been created. Some may view this process as unnecessarily difficult. The district, however, believes it has a right and responsibility to protect its students.
Computer/Internet System Requirements:
The current version of the eSchoolData Parent Portal works best with either Internet Explorer Version 7, or Safari Versions 3.4 or 4.0.4.
If you are running a version earlier than Internet Explorer 7, you can update it for free at www.microsoft.com .
It's important to note that if you are running a later version of Internet Explorer (Version 8 or 9), you will need to run the Parent Portal in Compatibility Mode (click on the torn page icon next to the web site address bar). You can check your version of Internet Explorer by clicking on the "Help" icon (question mark in a blue circle) and selecting "About Internet Explorer" from the drop-down menu.
Much of the information available through the Parent Portal is in portable document format (.PDF). Most PCs and Macs come pre-loaded with Adobe Acrobat Reader, the .PDF software. If your computer does not have the software, it can be downloaded for free at www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html .
Requesting an Account:
Parent Portal accounts have been auto-generated by eSchoolData. Please contact Mr. Michael Sauro (824-2223 or via e-mail) to begin the process of activating your account. Please note that Mr. Sauro is only available on Tuesdays & Wednesdays, so he might not respond to your phone call or e-mail until the following week.
Account Verification:
We are very concerned about student privacy and protecting sensitive information. We think it is very important to be absolutely certain that we are giving access to only parents and legal guardians. Once the identification verification process is completed through sharing photo identification (driver's license, military ID, etc.), parents will be given their user name and temporary password so they may activate the account.
Student and Parent Demographic Information
Having a Parent Portal account will allow parents and guardians to update/change demographic information, such as street or mailing addresses, phone numbers, emergency contacts, e-mail addresses, etc. Information associated with you or your student can be changed by clicking on the “My Account” icon on your personal home page. Next, click “Update Account Info” from the tabs on the left and enter your new information. Click “Save.”
